On June 12, 2024, POPUP celebrated its 25th anniversary. The evening was filled with joy, generosity, and an inspiring sense of community, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Monte De Dios provided a breathtaking backdrop for the celebration and the evening was brought to life with captivating performances by Zamar. Nico Panagio set the perfect tone as the event’s host.
Alan Platt, the founder of Doxa Deo Church and City Changers movement reflected on the last 25 years, anchoring POPUP’s story to its origins, original intent, and major milestones.
Jean Symons, leader of Doxa Deo Ministries, inspired guests to become stirrers of hope in their communities and city. He urged individuals to harness their agency as agents of transformation, emphasising the importance of collaboration and the empowering partnership with POPUP.
Emile Raubenheimer, our CEO, shared POPUP’s vision and plans for the next season, repositioning POPUP to attract new funders and partners. He highlighted POPUP’s integral role within the shared value ecosystem dedicated to city transformation. Emile shared from Isaiah 61, connecting Jesus’s journey to our mission: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon us to bring good news, heal the broken-hearted, and set the captives free.” This powerful message serves as our foundation. As we embody the ornament of beauty (crown), the oil of joy (Holy Spirit), and the garment of praise (Gifting), we find our identity and empowerment, living with significance. This transformative journey enables our learners to become true City Changers, contributing to the vibrant, positive change we aspire to see in our communities.
